About Us

Art Media Resources is a publishing group dedicated to disseminating scholarly research on Asian art and culture.

History

In 1942, Max Faerber opened up Paragon Book Gallery to showcase books exclusively on Asian art and culture. By the mid-1960s, he began his own independent press to reprint rare and out-of-print books. In 1998, the publishing side of Paragon Book Gallery was renamed Art Media Resources. The firm is now renowned for its academic publications, including its collaborations with the Center for the Art of East Asia at the University of Chicago. Authors we have published include established scholars such as Wu Hung, Madeleine Boucher, Katherine Tsiang, and Paul Copp.
